Battle of the Books

Do you know what Battle of the Books is?

Here in Waco, it means two different things:

Locally, students from area schools can join to create a team and compete against other schools to show that THEIR team is the Champion of Reading in Central Texas. Each team reads the same list of books, then competes to answer questions about those books.

And secondly, the "National" Battle of the Books is a contest sponsored by School Library Journal. Each year, 16 books are chosen to compete against each other; well-known authors read all the books, and then they judge the books against each other. Only the best of the best can be the winner! Read along during the competition and root for your favorites.
