We have a hefty dose of spring events coming up:
The "One Book-One Waco (OBOW)" book was announced last week: it is "Rocket Boys: A Memoir" by Homer Hickam. In honor of this book, we will be having "space-related" events all spring... keep an eye on this space for more details of book talks, movie showings, and other events!
In April - June we will be hosting a nationally traveling exhibit entitled "Visions of the Universe: Four Centuries of Discovery". This beautiful panel display will reveal the history of man's understanding of the universe.
Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 we will host our opening panel discussion for the exhibit. Meet scientists, astronomers and book authors discussing their views on space exploration...
We will have other programs, including POP! SCIENCE during the spring, in celebration of this exhibit. We'll also have other fun space-related stuff to do in the library.
Last but not least, the Summer Reading Club theme this year is Time Twistin'. We're planning all sorts of great time-travel related events for the summer... including a grand finale party and costume contest for all who enter and complete the summer reading club.
