Do you listen to your books?

Listening is a great way to consume books.

You can check out audiobooks here in the library in multiple formats:
Playaways are pre-recorded mp3 players that you checkout and play. You use your own headphones but we supply the battery!

Popular YA titles available in playaway include John Green's Paper Towns, A.J. Butcher's Spy High, Science Fair by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, and Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

The old faithful format of Books on CD are still very popular. New YA titles include Laura Resau's Indigo Notebook, and In the Belly of the Bloodhound by L.A. Meyer.

A third, and very fun way of getting audiobooks, is to download them straight to your computer, MP3 player or Ipod, from Netlibrary. Visit Netlibrary from our databases page (here), and sign up for a free account. Download the Media Center, and away you go... Popular titles include The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie, Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson, and over 300 other titles.
